Medication Dispensing
Medication dispensing is at the core of what we do. We prepare prescriptions for patients staying in the hospital and those visiting from home, making sure all medications are safe and suitable. We also handle sensitive medications like controlled drugs, following strict legal rules. Beyond dispensing, we're also here to help patients understand how to take medications properly, choose the right over-the-counter options, and even arrange for repeat deliveries to save time.
Ward Supply
We ensure timely and efficient medication distribution across all hospital wards, including those equipped with automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs). Our pharmacists oversee the management of dangerous drugs and psychotropic substances, provide troubleshooting support, and ensure smooth ADC operations to maintain uninterrupted care.
Cytotoxic Drug Reconstitution (CDR)

Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) is a coordinated programme that promotes the responsible use of antimicrobial medications, such as antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, and antiparasitics, to optimise treatment outcomes, minimise drug toxicity, and reduce the emergence of antimicrobial resistance.
Antimicrobial resistance poses a significant global health threat, making it increasingly difficult to treat common infections effectively. By ensuring antimicrobials are used appropriately and only when truly needed, AMS helps preserve the effectiveness of these vital medications for current and future generations.
At Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City, our AMS programme is led by a multidisciplinary team of pharmacists, infection control nurses, microbiologists, and clinicians. Together, they:
